We will, of course. American taxpayers. At a time when he is telling the rest of us to tighten our belts and buy fewer Christmas presents. And who is giving him the money? Congress. Congress allocates all money. The office of the president has no money. You wouldn’t think so, given the actions of our current president, but it’s true.

So, what can we do about it? Not much, but at least we can protest. Call your representative in Congress and complain. Tell them not to do it. A veteran’s group is organizing to block the parade. Support them. Sign petitions. Join a protest on June 14. Make a sign. Voice your opinion.

I am a moderate, easy-going person. It takes a lot to provoke me. But seriously? A $90+ million military parade for a man who called WW2 vets suckers, disparaged prisoners of war, insulted John McCain, gutted the office of Veteran’s Affairs, and is doing everything he can to cut veteran’s benefits across the board. A man who never expressed one iota of respect, let alone admiration for the service and sacrifice of the actual people who comprise the military? That man deserves a military parade for his birthday?

That is a travesty. If Congress has an extra $90 million dollars laying around, let them give it to the VA. Let Trump pay for his own parade.
