I just went to vote today after watching two hurricanes devastate five states in two weeks. Storms are worse and more frequent. We are seeing floods where we never saw them before. Wildfires are rampant. And yet climate change was hardly an issue in this election. What is wrong with us? How long can we hide our heads in the sand?

Jimmy Carter raised this issue clear back in 1976. If we had only listened, we could have averted what is now a crisis. Instead, we laughed at him and voted him out. Then Al Gore gave it a try in 2000, this time with plenty of scientific support. Too bad for Al. We didn’t want to hear it, although he did win the popular vote. It was only the Republican Supreme Court that put Bush in office.

We can’t let that happen again. Despite no one talking about it, we know who is on which side. Trump is still pushing for “clean coal.” We know who is paying his bills. If there was ever a time to VOTE for your country and your planet, this is it.
